Shane McMahon Issues Statement On AEW Meeting

WWE/AEW

WrestleTalk and Fightful reported on Tuesday that Tony Khan and Shane McMahon met privately on Monday at a secluded airport in Arlington. During this meeting, they talked about potential future opportunities.

Fightful mentioned that Khan had been willing to have discussions with McMahon for some time. However, it was thought that they hadn’t actually spoken until the recent rumors about McMahon possibly joining AEW surfaced. The AEW President has reportedly been very receptive to the idea of collaborating with McMahon for several weeks and has shown that he’s open to conversations about it whenever people bring it up backstage.

Bully Ray shared a statement from McMahon during an episode of Busted Open Radio. Here’s the complete statement: “Tony and I were introduced by a mutual friend, and we had an awesome meeting. We discussed a lot of topics, but mainly our common passion for the industry and the ups and downs of working with family. I congratulated him on AEW’s five-year anniversary and can’t wait to see how he takes the business to the next level.”
