New Match Announced For MLW Lucha Apocalypto

MLW issued the following:

Janai Kai Defends MLW Title Against CMLL’s Lluvia & Persephone in Chicago Nov 9

Major League Wrestling (“MLW”) today announced a triple threat for the MLW Women’s World Featherweight Championship: Janai Kai (champion) vs. Lluvia vs. Persephone at Lucha Apocalypto, live on YouTube from Cicero Stadium in Chicago on Saturday, November 9.

Buy tickets at http://www.luchatickets.com and Eventbrite.com starting at just $10.

The stakes couldn’t be higher as Janai Kai, the reigning MLW Women’s World Featherweight Champion and member of CONTRA, faces the challenge of not one, but two of CMLL’s finest luchadoras, Lluvia and Persephone, in a triple threat, one-fall-to-a-finish title fight.

Janai Kai, known as the “Kick Demon” for her fierce and unrelenting striking ability, has held the Featherweight Championship for a full year, having defeated her bitter rival, Delmi Exo, for the title in October 2023. Now, Janai finds herself in one of the most difficult tests of her reign, as she battles two of Mexico’s elite in this historic matchup. With CMLL’s Lluvia and Persephone vying for gold, Kai’s reign is at serious risk.

Lluvia, one of the most celebrated luchadoras in CMLL, is no stranger to championship gold and has amassed a legion of fans for her agility and high-flying prowess. A third-generation luchadora, Lluvia brings the prestige of her lineage and the momentum of her recent victories in Mexico to MLW, aiming to make history by bringing the MLW Women’s World Featherweight Championship back to her homeland.

On the other side stands Persephone, another rising star from CMLL who has dazzled fans with her power and brutal submission tactics. Known for her versatility and calculating mindset, Persephone is a fierce competitor with the ability to adapt in any situation. She has been on a tear through CMLL, making her a serious threat to Janai Kai’s title reign.

This interpromotional bout is not just a battle for championship glory but a showdown between the top women from the United States and Mexico, bringing an international flair to MLW’s Lucha Apocalypto.

Will Lluvia or Persephone succeed in taking the championship south of the border, or will Janai Kai continue her dominance and cement her legacy as the unstoppable force in MLW’s Featherweight division?

As a thank you to Chicago fans, the November return will be a special fan appreciation event with tickets starting at $10.

Lucha Apocalypto will feature MLW fighters and CMLL’s grandest luchadores. Matches will be announced at MLW.com.

PLUS: Special Meet & Greets! One night only merch and more!
