While speaking about the current state of WWE on his Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker thinks its on the same level as major sports leagues.
“From when I started to where we’re at now, it’s completely different. The way it’s perceived is different. The magnitude of the events are different, sponsors are different. All of this has happened within the last 20 years.
I think we now are on the same level or close to the NFL, Major League Baseball, NBA, all the major sports groups and different entertainment genres, I think we are finally on that level where we’re not considered kind of like a sideshow circus kind of deal. It’s good, it’s good to know that I was part of that development of that system.
The process to get into the PC is difficult, and it’s made so because we want the very best, just like the NFL wants the very best college players. It’s kind of the sake system. But yeah, in the last 20 years, we’ve really turned the page from kind of the sideshow deal to a major entertainment genre.”
