Update On Future Of AEW Rampage

A new multi-year multimedia rights agreement has been made between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery. Starting in 2025, AEW pay-per-views will be shown on Max at a lower price per event.

The shows Dynamite and Collision will continue to air on TBS and TNT. The deal is worth $555 million over three years, not counting the money made from pay-per-view events. AEW is still shopping around a third show, with the rumor being for Shockwave, which would air on FOX or FS1. Rampage and Battle of the Belts are expected to be discontinued.

While speaking on the AEW Full Gear Media Call, Tony Khan was asked about Rampage’s future.

“I am still working on our media rights. We got a great, great deal done with Warner Bros Discovery. It’s a massive increase in our revenue, making several times more and producing the four hours of television that you reference with Dynamite every Wednesday on TBS. Also now streaming on Max and Collision every week on TNT, also streaming on Max. For Rampage, it’s been something I really enjoy doing since 2021. In the deal, we got where it’s focused on these four hours of television. It’s not currently in the package of our Warner Bros. Discovery media rights deal.

“I think going forward, there’s a lot of opportunities for AEW. And we’ve talked about trying to grow the brand internationally and domestically. And… As far as Rampage goes, that show or potentially other AEW content got a lot places where it could live. All of our focus in 2024 on the business side had to be on our Media Rights renewal with Warner Bros. Discovery. They have been our partner from day one. And the most important thing that we could do was extend that huge relationship for us.”
