New NXT North American Champion Ricky Saints, who captured the title shortly after his WWE debut, has acknowledged the “Tony Fumbled” chants directed at AEW’s Tony Khan during his appearances at the WWE Performance Center.
These chants reflect a sentiment among some fans that Saints, formerly known as Ricky Starks, was not utilized to his full potential in AEW. Addressing this reaction on the “Good Karma Wrestling” podcast, Saints stated, “My take is, it’s not about what happened before.
Let’s focus on the present and the work I’m putting in now. I truly appreciate that people care and have strong opinions, but I don’t want it to come at the expense of someone else.” Saints’ comments indicate his desire to focus on his current success in NXT rather than dwell on past perceived slights, while also expressing consideration for others in the wrestling industry.
