AEW’s Kyle Fletcher has boldly set his sights on the AEW International Championship, currently held by the legendary Kenny Omega. During a recent interview with Good Karma Wrestling, the Aussie Open member not only challenged Omega but also declared himself the “new generation’s Kenny Omega” and the “best bout machine.”
Fletcher made his championship ambitions clear: “I need the accolades to back that up, so I think championship gold is definitely the way I’m looking. There are a couple of nice shiny belts that I like the look of, namely, maybe the International Championship held by one of the greatest of all time, Kenny Omega.”
He then took a direct shot at the current champion’s status. “I think he is well past his prime, I think I am the new generation’s Kenny Omega, that best bout machine,” Fletcher confidently stated. “So, I would love to do that in a big big stadium.”
These assertive comments from Fletcher signal his intent to rise to the top of AEW and potentially create a marquee feud with one of the company’s founders. Fletcher is scheduled to be in singles action against AR Fox on this weekend’s edition of AEW Collision, airing via delay on TNT on Saturday, May 17th, at 8:00 pm EST.
