In a video on former WWE Superstar Maven’s YouTube channel, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley explained why being sprayed with a fire extinguisher is surprisingly painful.
While ranking the most painful weapons, Foley addressed the unique agony of a CO2 fire extinguisher blast.
“The thing about the CO2 extinguishers is that it makes it really hard to breathe,” Foley said. “Especially if you’ve been through a match and you’re gassing out already.”
The Hardcore Legend explained that the inability to catch your breath creates a sense of alarm during a match.
“Panic sets in, because you’re used to being able to draw those breaths,” he stated. “I’m gonna go with ‘it hurts,’ because I never had an experience where it did not.”
