AEW star Nic Nemeth has weighed in on the dominant Death Riders storyline, praising the long-term mystery of who will eventually dethrone the powerful faction. The group, led by Jon Moxley, has been a central focus of AEW programming.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Nemeth said he loves the uncertainty and the number of potential stars who could be built up to be the one to finally end the group’s reign.
“We’re all vain pieces of crap,” Nemeth said. “We want people to succeed, but we don’t want them to do better than us. So, you gotta have that in the back pocket of who wants to be the man who pulls this sword from the stone and finally ends the Death Riders, or takes Moxley out, or whatever the situation is. I love not knowing.”
Nemeth added that the investment from people both inside and outside the core story is what makes it compelling for everyone involved.
“The fact that we’re all invested in it, not just because it’s a dream matchup… ’cause all the pieces are falling into place. All of AEW, people behind the scenes, people associated with the story, and some people not, and that’s what really makes it.”
The next chapter of the saga will see Hangman Page challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at All In: Texas next month.
