More details have come out regarding the injury to former ROH World Television Champion Komander, which is expected to keep him out of action for the upcoming Fantasticamania event. The injury occurred during a signature high-flying spot.
According to a report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Komander was injured at a show in Oaxaca, Mexico. While attempting his ropewalk Fosbury Flop, he slipped on the ropes and suffered what was described as “a significant knee injury,” despite his opponent attempting to catch him.
This injury has already impacted his schedule. Komander was pulled from his scheduled match at AEW’s Summer Blockbuster event. A backstage segment aired showing The Hurt Syndicate attacking him to explain his absence from the six-man tag team match on the show.
As a result of the injury, Komander is now unlikely to compete at next week’s CMLL and NJPW co-promoted Fantasticamania event at Arena Mexico. He was scheduled to team with Bandido and Hologram against Mistico, Dorada, and Neon. A replacement has not yet been named.
