MVP acknowledges that Shawn Michaels is one of the best performers in wrestling history, even if he is not a fan of him personally. Speaking on a recent episode of Marking Out, MVP praised the WWE Hall of Famer’s ability to “sell” moves and elicit emotion from the audience.
While he did not elaborate on the reasons for his personal issues with Michaels, MVP was clear in his professional respect for HBK’s in-ring work.
“Shawn Michaels is not necessarily one of my favorite people, but you can’t dispute his selling, the emotion he would get from people the way he would sell and make people feel sorry for him,” MVP stated.
He also named Adam Copeland and Dusty Rhodes as other masters of the craft, noting that the most important part of selling is drawing the audience into the performance and making them believe in the struggle.
