New WWE NXT star Blake Monroe, formerly known as Mariah May in AEW, posted an emotional vlog filmed just hours before her NXT debut on June 3.
In the video, Monroe called signing with the company the biggest accomplishment of her career.
“This is maybe thus far the greatest achievement of my life to be a part of WWE.”
She revealed that she had felt “dejected” at the end of 2024 and was unsure if a WWE career was an option for her. She credited training at Tyler Breeze and Shawn Spears’ Flatbacks wrestling school with helping her fall in love with wrestling again. The article noted that Flatbacks is in Florida, and it was unclear if Monroe was also training in Atlanta or was confused about the location.
Monroe said support from her manager and family, particularly her father, encouraged her to pursue her dream. “My dad said ‘Life isn’t a dress rehearsal you get one go this is your dream since you were a little kid.’ And so everything happened really quickly. And I’m doing it, I am officially a WWE superstar.”
