On a recent episode of his “My World” podcast, Jeff Jarrett made a case for Sean “X-Pac” Waltman to receive a solo induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. While Waltman is already a two-time inductee as a member of D-Generation X and the nWo, Jarrett believes his individual career warrants its own recognition.
Jarrett pointed to Waltman’s early days as the Lightning Kid, where his groundbreaking matches with Jerry Lynn helped set a new standard for fast-paced, athletic wrestling in the United States. He also highlighted the significance of his debut in WWE as the 1-2-3 Kid.
“He was turning heads and making headlines as, truly, a kid,” Jarrett said. “Then, when you look at his entry point into the WWF as the 1-2-3 Kid, and the huge upset he had over Razor Ramon… it was a different era.”
Jarrett explained that at a time when wrestling was seen as a “big man’s business,” Waltman’s success proved that smaller competitors could become major stars. He also praised Waltman’s successful transition to WCW as Syxx in the nWo and his ability to overcome personal struggles throughout his career.
“When you kind of think of a trailblazer, somebody who broke the mold, positioned it in a unique way, that 1-2-3 Kid upset can happen anywhere,” Jarrett continued. “He battled some demons, like all of us do in life, but he kept rolling… There is a lot of moments that Kid was a part of. So if you know your history, it is absolutely no disrespect to anybody that’s currently in the Hall of Fame, but, my gosh, without question.”
