Samoa Joe picked up a victory on AEW Dynamite, defeating Wheeler Yuta by submission with his signature Coquina Clutch.
The celebration was short-lived, as NJPW star Gabe Kidd made a surprise appearance, emerging from the crowd to attack Joe from behind. This marked Kidd’s first appearance in AEW since the Double or Nothing pay-per-view in May. Kidd was quickly chased off by Powerhouse Hobbs and Katsuyori Shibata, who came to Joe’s aid.
