Wrestling legend Kevin Von Erich has officially signed a contract with All Elite Wrestling. The news was announced by his sons, Marshall and Ross Von Erich, on “The Claw” podcast.
“My dad is officially AEW. He’s on the team. He’s with AEW now,” Marshall Von Erich said. “We were surprised, too. ‘Yeah man, I’m on the team now.’”
Ross Von Erich clarified the nature of the deal, stating that his father is on “sort of a legends deal,” similar to the one “The Icon” Sting had with the company.
Marshall also spoke about the respect his father commands in the AEW locker room during his appearances. “When my dad is in the locker room, he’ll be in deep conversation with one of the wrestlers,” he said. “It’s crazy who he impacts and talks to. Ross and I were impressed with the people that really respect him.”
Kevin Von Erich, whose family story was recently documented in the A24 biopic “The Iron Claw,” has made a handful of appearances for AEW, primarily in his home state of Texas.
