Tony Khan Calls Dragon Lee’s WWE Signing Announcement A “Double Cross”

Tony Khan recently spoke about the December 2022 incident where Dragon Lee announced he was signing with WWE at an AAA event, immediately after a match where he and Dralistico won the AAA World Tag Team Championships from FTR.

Speaking with Q101, Khan called the situation a “double cross” and confirmed he had not approved the announcement or WWE’s presence. “It’s not like, you know, FTR were there and they saw the WWE cameras and it’s like, ‘okay, something’s up.’ I had not agreed to that, actually,” Khan said.

He recalled being at a show in Denver when he got the call from FTR. “I talked to FTR and they said, ‘there’s some kind of strange stuff going on here.’ Then, right after Dynamite ended that match went off and they announced that Dragon Lee was signing with WWE and he still had FTR’s name on the plate. So it was really a double cross, and that would never happen now.”

Khan contrasted that experience with his current “brother”-like relationship with Salvador Lutteroth of CMLL, stating they would never betray each other like that.
