Huge Match and Major Return Set for Next Week’s AEW Dynamite

AEW

All Elite Wrestling has announced two major segments for next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite on Wednesday, August 6. The show will feature the final semifinal match in the ongoing AEW Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament, as well as the return of “The CEO” Mercedes Moné.

AEW Dynamite to Host Final Tag Team Tournament Semifinal

The main event of next week’s Dynamite is now set, as The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) will take on the team of “Brodido” (Brody King & Bandido). The match is the final semifinal bout in the tournament to determine the next challengers for the AEW World Tag Team Championship. Brody King and Bandido secured their spot on Thursday’s episode of AEW Collision, where they defeated The Gates of Agony in a quarterfinal match. The Young Bucks received a bye to the semifinals. The winner of this match will advance to the tournament finals to face FTR, who punched their ticket on Collision by defeating The Bang Bang Gang. The ultimate winner of the tournament will go on to challenge the reigning champions, The Hurt Syndicate, at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view later this month.

Mercedes Moné Returns to Dynamite

Also announced for next Wednesday’s show is the return of the reigning AEW TBS Champion, Mercedes Moné. This will be her first appearance on Dynamite since her high-profile AEW Women’s World Championship match against “Timeless” Toni Storm at the All In event in July. Moné came up short in that encounter, which marked her first singles defeat in AEW. It is not yet known what the “CEO” will have to say or do upon her return to Wednesday nights, but as the TBS Champion, she will undoubtedly be looking to address her next challenger and reassert her dominance over the women’s division.

MJF vs. Mark Briscoe Grudge Match

As previously announced, next week’s Dynamite will also feature a highly anticipated grudge match between MJF and Mark Briscoe. The rivalry between the two has become intensely personal in recent weeks, with MJF delivering a series of vicious verbal attacks on Briscoe. The match was made on this past Wednesday’s show after Briscoe defeated Ricochet and once again called out MJF. This will be the first-ever one-on-one encounter between the two men and promises to be a hate-filled affair.

The announced lineup for the Wednesday, August 6 episode of AEW Dynamite:

  • MJF vs. Mark Briscoe
  • Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament Semifinals: The Young Bucks vs. Brodido (Brody King & Bandido)
  • Mercedes Moné returns
