Hangman Page and MJF Set for Face-to-Face on AEW Dynamite

AEW

A partial lineup has been announced for next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite on Wednesday, August 13, in Cincinnati, Ohio. The show will feature a major face-to-face confrontation between the reigning AEW World Champion, “Hangman” Adam Page, and the man who holds a guaranteed contract for his title, MJF. Also announced for the show is Jon Moxley in singles action and the in-ring return of Adam Copeland.

Partial Card Announced for Next Week’s AEW Dynamite

Three major segments have been confirmed for the August 13 edition of Dynamite. In what is sure to be a tense confrontation, AEW World Champion Hangman Page will go face-to-face with MJF. The former AEW World Champion, Jon Moxley, will also be in action as he takes on one-half of the JetSpeed tag team, the high-flying Kevin Knight. Additionally, WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland will compete in his first match since April, as he is set to go one-on-one with FTR’s manager, the outspoken Stokely Hathaway.

World Title Contention Heats Up

The face-to-face segment between Hangman Page and MJF is a direct result of their confrontation at the conclusion of this week’s episode of Dynamite. MJF, who won the Casino Gauntlet match at the All In pay-per-view last month, holds a contract that guarantees him a shot at the AEW World Championship at any time of his choosing. He has yet to reveal when he will cash in that opportunity. Page, fresh off a successful title defense against Jon Moxley, will now have to deal with the ever-present threat of the “Salt of the Earth.” Their confrontation next week could provide some clarity on when that inevitable championship match might take place. The other major singles match announced, Jon Moxley vs. Kevin Knight, comes after Moxley defeated Knight’s tag team partner, Mike Bailey, in the opening contest of this week’s show.

A Score to Settle and a Return to the Ring

The most unusual match announced for next week’s show is the singles bout between the legendary Adam Copeland and the manager, Stokely Hathaway. This match is the latest chapter in the ongoing rivalry between Copeland and the tag team of FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler). Hathaway, as FTR’s manager, has been a constant instigator in the feud, which has seen Copeland reunite with his long-time partner, Christian Cage. The match against Hathaway is likely a precursor to a major tag team match down the line pitting the reunited Copeland and Cage against FTR. For Copeland, this will be his first time back in the ring since he was injured in April, and he will surely be looking to take out months of frustration on the loudmouthed manager.

Announced card for the Wednesday, August 13 episode of AEW Dynamite:

  • Hangman Page and MJF go face-to-face
  • Jon Moxley vs. Kevin Knight
  • Adam Copeland vs. Stokely Hathaway
