The long-awaited reunion of Adam Copeland and Christian Cage is set for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. The two will team up for the first time in over 14 years to take on Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian at the pay-per-view on Sunday, August 24, in London, England.
The reunion was set in motion on the August 13 episode of AEW Dynamite. After Copeland defeated Stokely Hathaway, he was attacked by FTR. Christian Cage then ran out to make the save, clearing the ring of both FTR and a chair-wielding Nick Wayne. Following a tense staredown in the ring, Copeland embraced Cage with a long hug, seemingly putting their past issues aside.
This angle follows the events of AEW All In, where Nick Wayne betrayed Cage, and Copeland returned to save him, telling his old friend to “go find himself.”
