Thunder Rosa recently spoke with Contralona about the evolution of the AEW women’s division since the company’s inception in 2019.
“Well, they are giving opportunities to women who haven’t had the chance to be on television consistently. One of them is Queen Aminata, who has been on every Wednesday, which has helped her popularity a lot. We’re talking about Skye Blue coming back, Julia (Hart) is there, Thekla, Taynara (Tay Conti), there’s a variety in the women’s division, and they have the chance to be on TV. They have the chance to try something new and show what they’ve been missing all this time because some of them were injured or took time off for personal reasons. I think it’s growing; it’s completely different from what it was six years ago, and we’re all growing together, and I’m very proud of the things they’ve been able to achieve and are achieving right now.”
When asked if there was anything she would change about the division’s history, she reflected on her own journey.
“I don’t know, it’s a question with many layers, very difficult to answer. I believe that, honestly, in my experience, I wouldn’t be the person I am if things were different.”
