A new report from Fightful Select has provided more insight into the knee injury that AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada’s Forbidden Door challenger, Swerve Strickland, is dealing with. According to the report, Strickland is working through a torn meniscus that he first suffered in 2019 while at the WWE Performance Center.
Dave Meltzer also noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the injury is legitimate. Fightful added that the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars medical staff, another asset of the Khan family, is assisting Strickland with his recovery. It is currently unknown if he will require surgery after his championship match this Sunday.
