Anthony Bowens Justifies His Attack On Former Partner Max Caster

AEW

Anthony Bowens has addressed his recent, vicious beatdown of his former tag team partner in The Acclaimed, Max Caster. The attack, which took place after Bowens defeated Caster in a singles match on the July 26 episode of AEW Collision, shocked many fans and definitively ended their long and successful partnership. In a recent interview with MuscleMan Malcolm, Bowens explained his actions, stating that while they may have seemed excessive, they were the result of years of frustration. The former AEW World Tag Team Champion made it clear that he feels his side of the story has not been told, and that the public does not know the full extent of the issues he had to deal with during their time as a team.

Bowens acknowledged how the attack looked to the viewers but insisted that his actions were justified.

“Okay, from a viewer’s perspective, I can understand how you think I might have been a little bit excessive in my beating of Max Caster; however, if you only knew what that man put me through for these four years, going on five years, at AEW, you would understand why I went berserk. I have not had the opportunity to tell my side of things in depth of what this man, the chaos — how much I feared for my job. How much chaos he brought, how many times I had to defend him. So, yeah, when I get the opportunity to go out there and whip his ass, I’m gonna go out here and kick his ass.”

The split of The Acclaimed marks the end of one of AEW’s most popular homegrown tag teams.
