The card for the inaugural WWE WrestlePalooza Premium Live Event is taking shape, and it is loaded with high-stakes encounters and historic returns. The event, which takes place on Saturday, September 20, from Indianapolis, will be the first WWE PLE to air on ESPN platforms in the United States. Following the events of this week’s Monday Night RAW, four major matches have been set for the show, including a bout to crown a new Women’s World Champion and the highly anticipated in-ring return of AJ Lee for the first time in over a decade. The card is packed with some of the biggest stars in the company, ensuring a blockbuster debut on the new platform.
A new Women’s World Champion will be crowned as Iyo Sky is scheduled to face Stephanie Vaquer. The championship was recently vacated by Naomi following her pregnancy announcement, and both Sky and Vaquer had legitimate claims to a championship opportunity, leading to this match being made official. In a massive tag team encounter, the recently reunited Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) will take on two members of The Vision, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. This match is a direct result of The Vision’s attack on The Usos’ cousin, Roman Reigns, at the Clash in Paris event. Also on the card, John Cena will go one-on-one with the returning Brock Lesnar, a match set up by Lesnar’s shocking attack on Cena at SummerSlam. Finally, in what is sure to be an emotional and historic moment, AJ Lee will team with her husband, CM Punk, to face the duo of World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch in a mixed tag team match.
The updated lineup is below:
- Women’s World Championship Match: Iyo Sky vs. Stephanie Vaquer
- John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar
- The Usos vs. Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker
- CM Punk and AJ Lee vs. Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch
