A new report from PWInsider has provided an update on the status of former AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. According to the report, Baker was not present backstage at the September 24 episode of AEW Dynamite, which took place in her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her absence was notable, as many fans had hoped or expected that she might make a surprise return in front of her hometown crowd. The report adds another layer to the ongoing mystery surrounding one of the foundational stars of the AEW women’s division, who has been absent from programming for nearly a year.
Baker’s last appearance on AEW television was on the November 13, 2024, episode of Dynamite, where she defeated Penelope Ford and was then confronted by the returning Serena Deeb, seemingly setting up a new feud that never materialized. Since then, her status has been a frequent topic of discussion among fans. AEW President Tony Khan recently addressed her absence during the All Out media scrum, where he compared the AEW roster to a sports team. He stated that Baker is a very talented wrestler on their “bench” and that she could be utilized “with the right situation and at the right time,” but did not provide a specific timeline for her return. Her absence from the Pittsburgh show suggests that a comeback is not imminent.
