Bryan Danielson Compares Eddie Kingston And Big Bill’s Mental Health Journeys

AEW star and commentator Bryan Danielson recently offered a poignant perspective on the shared struggles of Eddie Kingston and Big Bill, highlighting the mental health battles that both wrestlers have publicly faced. Danielson, who has long been an advocate for mental health awareness in professional wrestling, drew a parallel between the two seemingly disparate performers, stating that despite their differences, they share similar stories of overcoming personal demons. His comments came during a discussion about their singles match at the recent AEW All Out pay-per-view, a bout that saw Kingston make his emotional return to the ring after a long injury layoff. Danielson’s analysis underscores the human element behind the wrestling characters and the personal growth that can come from adversity.

Speaking on the pre-show for AEW All Out, “The American Dragon” discussed his admiration for both men.

“One of the other ones that I’m really excited to see is Eddie Kingston coming back and wrestling Big Bill. I’ve known Eddie for a really long time. I admire Eddie a lot in the sense that he’s had a lot of mental health struggles. He wrote this great article for The Player’s Tribune a couple of years ago. And I don’t think he realizes this, but I think he has the ability to positively impact people with his story. And I think it’s probably less well-known than Eddie’s, but Big Bill has a very similar story. I think he’s talked about some of the struggles he had in WWE, and I was wrestling him when he had some of those struggles, and to see his growth, not only as a performer, but as a human being, I’m really excited for this match and I’m really happy for both guys.“

Kingston, who made his return at All Out after being sidelined for over a year with a severe leg injury, is known for his raw honesty about his mental health struggles. Big Bill has also been open about his personal challenges during his time in WWE, and Danielson’s comments suggest that both men have used their experiences to grow not only as performers but as individuals.
