A war of words has broken out on social media between Don Callis and a member of his own faction, “The Machine” Brian Cage. The public spat began after Cage made comments about the large size of the Don Callis Family, which now reportedly has 41 members. Callis, who is known for his abrasive and confrontational style, was apparently not pleased with Cage’s comments and responded with a sharp rebuke on his X (formerly Twitter) account. The exchange provides a glimpse into the potential for dissension within the ranks of the massive and powerful heel faction.
In response to Cage’s comments, Don Callis posted a message in all caps, seemingly firing a warning shot at his own client.
“DON CALLIS TELLS DOPEY MCSWOLL: ‘KEEP MY NAME OUT OF YOUR F—ING MOUTH’”
Brian Cage quickly fired back with a pointed comment of his own, referencing a past incident from the very first AEW pay-per-view, Double or Nothing, in 2019.
“Like you kept me off DON 2019? Got it.”
At the time of that event, Don Callis was an executive for Impact Wrestling, and Brian Cage was the reigning Impact World Champion. Despite being a world champion in a partner promotion, Cage was not featured on the inaugural AEW show. Cage has been out of action with a knee injury since March of this year.
