Mike Santana is the new TNA World Champion. In the main event of the Bound For Glory pay-per-view in Lowell, Massachusetts, Santana defeated Trick Williams to capture the TNA World Championship for the first time in his career. The victory was a culmination of a long and emotional journey for Santana, who had come up short in previous championship opportunities. The hard-fought match ended when Santana hit his signature discus lariat on Williams to secure the pinfall and the championship. However, the celebration was short-lived, as the post-match scene erupted into chaos with multiple attempted cash-ins and a surprise return.
As TNA President Carlos Silva was about to present Santana with the championship, the music of “Call Your Shot” gauntlet co-winner Nic Nemeth hit, and he attempted to cash in his championship opportunity. However, before he could make it official, the lights went out, and the returning Elias appeared, attacking Nemeth and preventing the cash-in. The other gauntlet co-winner, Frankie Kazarian, then attempted to cash in, but he did not have the trophy with him. Santana quickly dispatched him with a lariat. Finally, with the chaos subsided, Santana was presented with the TNA World Championship and celebrated in the ring with his daughter.
