Update on Andrade’s AEW Return Status

There is new information regarding Andrade’s absence from AEW television following his return. Andrade made his comeback to AEW on the October 1 edition of Dynamite, less than a month after his release from WWE. He joined the Don Callis Family and began a feud with Kenny Omega, but there has been little follow-up since then, leading fans to question his whereabouts.

Bryan Alvarez reported, “Regarding Andrade, all I know is that he’s not injured, and something is holding him up regarding his non-compete with WWE.” WWE main roster wrestlers typically have 90-day non-compete clauses after their release. A report from PWInsider indicated that Andrade’s WWE departure was due to multiple wellness policy failures, and WWE opted to release him outright rather than continuing to pay him during a non-compete period.

Andrade has been active outside of AEW, wrestling for The Crash in Mexico on October 3, where he won the promotion’s Heavyweight Championship. He is also scheduled to compete for WWC in Puerto Rico this weekend, which is the same day as AEW WrestleDream. An independent match between Andrade and LA Park, which was slated for Mucha Lucha Atlanta in Norcross, Georgia on October 26, is no longer being advertised. Andrade’s first stint with AEW lasted from 2021 to 2023.
