NJPW Adds Second “Winner Take All” Championship Match To Wrestle Kingdom 20

New Japan Pro-Wrestling has added another massive, high-stakes match to its biggest show of the year, Wrestle Kingdom 20. During a press conference held on Monday, NJPW officially announced that a second “Winner Take All” match has been added to the card. The reigning IWGP Women’s Champion, Syuri, will face the NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion, Saya Kamitani, with both titles on the line.

The match joins an already stacked card for the January 4, 2026, event at the Tokyo Dome. Syuri, who recently recaptured the IWGP title at King of Pro-Wrestling after returning from surgery, was confident at the press conference.

“My champion road has only just begun, and I will not be losing… [My title] is the top belt in women’s wrestling.”

Her opponent, Saya Kamitani, still has a scheduled NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship defense at an upcoming World of STARDOM event but was equally confident that she would be walking into the Tokyo Dome as champion.

“I will take the weight of the IWGP off (Syuri’s) shoulder, and tens of thousands of people in the Tokyo Dome will leave as devotees of Saya-sama.”

This is the second “Winner Take All” match announced for the event, which will also feature Hiroshi Tanahashi’s retirement match and the pro wrestling debut of Olympic Gold Medalist Aaron Wolf.

The updated Wrestle Kingdom 20 card is as follows:

  • IWGP World Heavyweight & Global Heavyweight Championship Match: Konosuke Takeshita (c) vs. Yota Tsuji (c)
  • IWGP Women’s & NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship Match: Syuri (c) vs. Saya Kamitani (c)
  • NEVER Openweight Championship Match: EVIL (c) vs. Aaron Wolf
  • Retirement Match: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. TBA
