Chris Jericho Just Took A Blatant Shot At AEW While Praising TNA

AEW

In a move that is turning heads, current AEW star Chris Jericho has offered exceptionally high praise for TNA Wrestling’s recent Bound For Glory pay-per-view, even comparing it favorably to a WWE-level event while simultaneously taking a shot at a recent AEW venue. Jericho’s comments, made on his Talk Is Jericho podcast, are particularly noteworthy given that his AEW contract is reportedly expiring at the end of 2025 amid heavy speculation of a WWE return.

Jericho was discussing the Hardys vs. Team 3D “One Final Table” match from the October 12 event.

“I don’t think I’ve watched an Impact or sorry, a TNA match in ages, if not this decade at all. I was so impressed… I’m getting literal goosebumps. That’s pro wrestling in its ultimate form. That’s all that matters is that emotion and that reaction.”

He then praised the event’s presentation and crowd, which TNA announced as a record-setting 7,794 fans.

“That crowd looked huge. It looked huge. It was like a WWE-level crowd. The place was packed… TNA looked like the second biggest company in the world, you know, and that was amazing. And the presentation was amazing. I mean, it looked like a WrestleMania, it really did.”

In a surprising comparison, Jericho then contrasted TNA’s big-arena feel with AEW’s recent tapings at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.

“I was watching this and you know, not saying anything out of school here, but comparing it to watching Dynamite when they were at the ECW arena, which looked like a Tony Condello taping. Sorry, it did.”

Jericho has not appeared on AEW programming since April 2025. It was also reported last month by Fightful Select that “several global and national companies are interested” in working with Jericho once his AEW contract expires, including WWE.
