During the AEW Full Gear 2025 media scrum, Tony Khan discussed the massive Kazuchika Okada vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi match set for Wrestle Kingdom 20, confirming it has been in the works for some time.
“For us, Okada was always the plan — that he would travel… and everybody thought that this was the biggest possible opportunity to make this not only an incredible business success but also… a well-deserved tribute to Hiroshi Tanahashi.”
Khan also praised the success of the first-ever Women’s Blood & Guts match, confirming that the match type will return for the division.
“Yeah, we’ll absolutely see the women of AEW lock up in Blood & Guts someday again… The network was so happy… they were thrilled with it.”
