A new report has shed light on how AEW President Tony Khan’s surprise appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show came together. According to Fightful Select, the interview was the result of significant behind-the-scenes work by AEW’s head of PR to repair the fractured relationship between Khan and Helwani, who had publicly feuded in the past. Previously, AEW talent had reportedly been prohibited from appearing on Helwani’s show.
In other news, The Young Bucks revealed in a recent interview with Adam’s Apple just how close they came to joining WWE before the formation of AEW. The duo stated they were offered a multi-year deal in 2018 worth $500,000 guaranteed, a figure said to be well above the company’s minimum contract at the time.
