WWE star Rhea Ripley has opened up about why she personally sought out AJ Lee to join her team for Survivor Series: WarGames. Lee officially joined the babyface squad on SmackDown, teaming with Ripley, Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, and IYO SKY.
Speaking on the “RAW Recap” podcast, Ripley explained that she grew up as a fan of Lee and admired her resilience.
“I thought she was amazing at what she did… She’s scrappy, she doesn’t give up, and I like that fire inside of her that I know she has… I knew that we needed a fifth member… I want that scrappy, I want that fight. I want people to second-guess her because of her size and then realize that she is a lot tougher than what they think she is.”
