Darby Allin’s status for the ongoing Continental Classic tournament is currently up in the air following a hospitalization.
During last week’s opening night of the tournament on Dynamite, Allin was defeated by Kevin Knight. On this week’s broadcast, commentary team member Excalibur revealed that Allin was taken to a hospital following the match, accompanied by video footage of Allin in a hospital bed.
It was noted that the former TNT Champion is not currently cleared to travel or compete. An official update on his condition is expected on this Saturday’s episode of Collision. The specific nature of his injury has not been disclosed.
Despite the setback, AEW President Tony Khan had high praise for Allin during a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, specifically highlighting his growth after climbing Mount Everest.
“He went from being a ten to an 11 when it came to selflessness and his attitude… He is so selfless and came back so centered and so focused, I was blown away,” Khan said.
