The 2026 Royal Rumble may be a leaner event than fans are used to.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the January 31 event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is currently scheduled to feature just four matches: the Men’s and Women’s Royal Rumble matches and two title bouts. This format mirrors the recent Survivor Series: WarGames card, which also featured four matches.
Specific title matches have not yet been locked in, as WWE creative is still navigating storylines through NXT: Deadline and John Cena’s final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The Royal Rumble will mark the beginning of the Road to WrestleMania 42, which is set to take place in Philadelphia later in the spring.
