Bitter rivals are set to become reluctant partners this Wednesday.
On Saturday’s Collision, Swerve Strickland spoke for the first time since returning from injury at Full Gear. Addressing the audience, Strickland called out AEW World Champion Samoa Joe and his faction, The Opps. He acknowledged that Hangman Page needs a partner to fight the group that cost him the world title. Strickland agreed to fill that spot, but with a strict condition: it is for “one night and one night only.”
The reunion was quickly interrupted by The Opps. Katsuyori Shibata attacked Strickland, targeting his knee and leaving him lying in the ring. Following the assault, AEW confirmed a Tornado Tag Team match for Dynamite: Winter is Coming.
