CM Punk Absent From RAW To Film Netflix Movie

AEW

The WWE World Heavyweight Champion has traded the squared circle for a movie set this week.

CM Punk was noticeably absent from Monday Night RAW, and Pwinsider reports that the absence was planned to allow him to film scenes for the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy, The Bodyguard. Punk was scheduled to miss the first two episodes of December to complete the project but is advertised to return for the December 15 episode in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Punk is slated to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Bron Breakker on the January 5 episode of RAW—the show’s debut on Netflix.

In the film, Punk plays a character named “Doghouse,” described as a physically intimidating but loyal and humorous member of a security detail. The movie is based on the 2022 novel by Katherine Center and features a cast that includes Supernatural star Jared Padalecki and Gossip Girl alum Leighton Meester.
