Darby Allin’s run in the 2025 Continental Classic came to an abrupt end last week, but the former TNT Champion insists he is far from finished.
During the December 6 edition of Collision, it was announced that Allin had been medically disqualified from the tournament following injuries sustained in his match against Kevin Knight on Dynamite. Speaking to 680 The Fan, Allin addressed his status and shut down any speculation that he might be considering retirement at age 32.
“Sting retired at 64. I’m 32 right now. Right now I feel amazing. It depends on how much I still love it. I don’t want to be the guy who wrestles because he has to—I want to wrestle because I want to,” Allin said.
He emphasized that his recovery regimen is intense, crediting Diamond Dallas Page for helping him maintain his physical health.
“No one knows what I do for physical recovery… I hooked up with DDP. I always hang out with him, and he gives me the latest and greatest contraptions in physical recovery. Ice baths, breath work… I feel like a million bucks. I’m just not medically cleared right now—they’re just saving me from me, which is fine.”
Following Allin’s removal from the tournament, AEW announced that “Jungle” Jack Perry would take his spot in the Gold League. Perry, who is currently 0-1 in the standings, faces a difficult road ahead as he steps in to replace the “daredevil” against a stacked field of competitors, including Kazuchika Okada.
