A familiar voice will guide John Cena out to the ring for the very last time.
In an interview with TV Insider, veteran ring announcer Lilian Garcia confirmed that she will handle the introductions for Cena’s final match against GUNTHER at Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend. Garcia noted the poetic nature of the assignment, as she was the one who announced him during his developmental days.
“It’s actually kind of fitting because I announced him even before he was John Cena. He was ‘The Prototype.’ It was a live event. I’ll never forget it,” Garcia shared. “From SummerSlam to WrestleMania, and now the pinnacle of it to be here, his final match. It’s absolutely incredible.”
Garcia’s involvement comes after she officially returned to the company full-time earlier this year. She stepped back into the role following the sudden departure of Samantha Irvin, seamlessly reclaiming her spot as the voice of the brand for major events.
