While his AEW colleagues were battling at Worlds End, Chris Jericho was busy fueling speculation about his own future.
The former AEW World Champion, who has been absent from television since Dynasty in April, hosted a live “Christmas Dinner with The Winnipeggers” special on his YouTube channel during the pay-per-view. Jericho’s absence from AEW programming has led to widespread rumors that he has parted ways with the company and is preparing for a WWE return and potential Hall of Fame induction.
During the stream, a fan messaged Jericho recounting memories of watching his WWE debut in 1999 and expressing hope that he would return to the promotion. Jericho’s response was brief but telling.
“You never know. You never know,” Jericho said with a knowing smile.
Jericho walked out of AEW following a backstage segment where he expressed disappointment in his cohorts Big Bill and Bryan Keith. Since then, the “Ocho” has been focused on his band Fozzy, but the timing of his contract expiration has many believing a final run in WWE is imminent.
With Royal Rumble season approaching in January, speculation regarding Jericho will likely reach a fever pitch. If he were to return to WWE, it would mark the end of a significant chapter in AEW history, as Jericho was the company’s first-ever World Champion and a cornerstone of its launch in 2019.
