The impact left him with a visibly bloodied and chipped tooth. Despite the pain and the blood, Moxley didn’t miss a step. He went on to defeat Fletcher to advance to the finals later in the evening. In the main event of the tournament, Moxley faced Gold League winner Kazuchika Okada in a highly anticipated rematch. Showing incredible grit, Moxley defeated the “Rainmaker” to become the new AEW Continental Champion, adding another accolade to his decorated career.
The victory cements Moxley’s status as one of the company’s pillars and brings the Continental Crown to the Death Riders faction. It also caps off a dominant tournament run for Moxley, who tore through the Blue League with a physical style that evidently came at a personal cost.
