Jon Moxley Suffers Broken Tooth During Continental Classic Final

Jon Moxley is known for his toughness, but he took that reputation to a new level at AEW Worlds End. The Death Riders leader not only won the 2025 Continental Classic tournament but did so after suffering a legitimate injury early in the night.

Moxley competed twice on the pay-per-view, first facing Kyle Fletcher in the tournament semi-finals. It was during this match that the incident occurred. While performing a spot at ringside involving the steel steps, Moxley slipped and stumbled, smashing his mouth tooth-first onto the top edge of the steps. The impact left him with a visibly bloodied and chipped tooth. Reports from Bryan Alvarez following the show confirmed that Moxley had “legit” split his tooth in two during the fall, describing the moment as a fluke accident.

Despite the pain and the blood, Moxley didn’t miss a step. He went on to defeat Fletcher to advance to the finals later in the evening. In the main event of the tournament, Moxley faced Gold League winner Kazuchika Okada in a highly anticipated rematch. Showing incredible grit, Moxley defeated the “Rainmaker” to become the new AEW Continental Champion, adding another accolade to his decorated career.

The victory cements Moxley’s status as one of the company’s pillars and brings the Continental Crown to the Death Riders faction. It also caps off a dominant tournament run for Moxley, who tore through the Blue League with a physical style that evidently came at a personal cost.

Moxley is expected to appear on AEW Dynamite: New Year’s Smash this Wednesday to celebrate his victory. While dental surgery may be in his immediate future, the new Continental Champion has never been one to let physical damage keep him away from the ring. His win also raises questions about the future of the Death Riders, who now hold major gold and momentum heading into the new year.
