Jack Perry Says CM Punk Incident “Freed Me In A Lot Of Ways”

AEW

Jack Perry has emerged from a tumultuous period in his career with a new perspective.

Speaking to Renee Paquette on Close Up, Perry reflected on the last few years, alluding to the backstage altercation with CM Punk at All In 2023 that kept him off television for months. While not mentioning Punk by name, Perry admitted the experience was painful but ultimately liberating.

“I feel like it sounds dramatic to say pain but it was not the nicest of times… I think it really freed me in a lot of ways,” Perry said.

He explained that prior to the incident, he was consumed by a desire to be liked and to have a “perfect” career. However, the public backlash forced him to accept that he couldn’t please everyone.

“I finally realized there are some people who are never gonna like me no matter what I do, and in a way that was really freeing… I wouldn’t change anything.”
