MJF vs. John Cena is a match the wrestling world will likely never see, and the new AEW World Champion is just as disappointed about it as the fans.
Following Cena’s retirement match against Gunther, MJF reflected on what could have been.
“I think there is a different world where I wrestle John Cena, but unfortunately it’s not this one,” MJF said. He revealed that he has had positive interactions with the WWE legend, noting that Cena watches AEW and has been complimentary of his work.
MJF also shared a surprising personal detail about his fandom.
“Before CM Punk, my favorite wrestler growing up was John Cena. He was a fathead on my wall in my bedroom. I’d wake up, salute the OG, and then get ready for school.”
