Willow Nightingale is ending the year with more gold than anyone else in the AEW women’s division.
In the main event of Dynamite: New Year’s Smash, Nightingale defeated Mercedes MonĂ© to capture the TBS Championship for the second time. The hard-fought battle ended after nearly 15 minutes when Nightingale executed the “Babe with the Powerbomb” to secure the pinfall, ending MonĂ©’s 584-day reign.
With this victory, Nightingale makes history as the first woman to hold two championships simultaneously in AEW, adding the TBS Title to her existing AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship reign alongside Harley Cameron.
The celebration was a massive affair, with members of The Conglomeration, Harley Cameron, and even former rival Kris Statlander joining her in the ring to close the show. For Moné, the loss continues a disastrous December that saw her lose the ROH Women’s World TV Title, the RevPro British Women’s Title, and now the TBS Championship in rapid succession.
