Sammy Guevara vs. Bandido And More Added To AEW Dynamite Lineup

AEW

The lineup for this Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite continues to grow, with two new high-profile matchups officially confirmed following Saturday’s episode of Collision.

In a heated backstage segment on Collision, tensions boiled over between two of Ring of Honor’s top champions. Sammy Guevara, one-half of the reigning ROH World Tag Team Champions, confronted current ROH World Champion Bandido. The “Spanish God” expressed visible frustration and jealousy regarding Bandido’s recent opportunities, specifically pointing out that the luchador had “earned a title shot against MJF’s AEW World Championship” before he did.

Feeling overlooked by AEW management, Guevara laid down a challenge to the ROH World Champion. Bandido, never one to back down from a fight, dismissed the hostility and stated that Guevara “could’ve simply asked and accepted the challenge.” As a result, the two high-flyers will collide in a non-title singles match on Dynamite. This bout comes just one week after Bandido defeated Guevara’s tag team partner, Beast Mortos, on the New Year’s Smash edition of Dynamite, adding an extra layer of revenge to Guevara’s motivations.

Additionally, the women’s division will see a hard-hitting contest as “Timeless” Toni Storm takes on “The Problem” Marina Shafir. This match serves as a direct fallout from the chaotic “Mixed Nuts Mayhem” match at Worlds End, where Storm and The Conglomeration battled Shafir and The Death Riders. With the bad blood between the two factions still simmering, this singles encounter promises to be a physical affair as Storm looks to settle the score with the MMA specialist.

These new additions bolster a card that is already stacked with major implications. The show will feature a brutal “Lights Out” tag team match pitting the unlikely alliance of “Hangman” Adam Page and Swerve Strickland against “The Opps” (Powerhouse Hobbs and HOOK). The rivalry between Page/Swerve and The Opps has escalated violently over the last month, leading to this unsanctioned environment where anything goes. Also on the card is a high-stakes AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match, where the newly crowned champion Jon Moxley will face The Hurt Syndicate’s Shelton Benjamin. If Benjamin can secure a victory or survive the time limit, he will earn a future shot at Moxley’s title.

The January 7, 2026, episode of AEW Dynamite will broadcast live from the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As the company kicks off the new year, all eyes are turning toward the road to Revolution. AEW recently announced that Revolution 2026 will return to the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 15. With tickets expected to go on sale soon, the outcomes of matches like Moxley vs. Benjamin and the developing World Title picture involving MJF will likely shape the main event card for the first major pay-per-view of 2026.

AEW Continental Championship Eliminator: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Shelton Benjamin
