Tommaso Ciampa Defeats Mark Briscoe to Win TNT Championship in Debut

AEW

History was made on the January 31, 2026, edition of AEW Collision as Tommaso Ciampa captured the TNT Championship in his very first match for the company. Following a tense confrontation on Dynamite earlier in the week, Ciampa challenged Mark Briscoe for the gold. The match was a grueling affair, with both men pushing each other to the limit.

Despite hitting multiple “Psycho Drillers,” Ciampa struggled to put the resilient Briscoe away. Ultimately, a devastating running knee strike secured the three-count for the challenger. The victory makes Ciampa only the second wrestler in AEW history, following Mercedes Mone, to win a championship in their debut match.

After the bell, the new champion was met with “you deserve it” chants from the live crowd. However, the celebration may be short-lived, as former champion Kyle Fletcher has already signaled his intent to pursue Ciampa’s newly won title.
