A main roster name was considered for a spot in the Men’s Royal Rumble but was ultimately left off the card. Fightful Select reported on Sunday that Kit Wilson’s name was discussed for the match, but he did not appear during the event in Saudi Arabia. Wilson has recently been establishing himself as a singles competitor on SmackDown with a new theme song, following his partner Elton Prince’s neck fusion surgery.
While Wilson missed the cut, the Rumble did feature notable surprises from the international scene, including AAA stars La Parka and Mr. Iguana. Additionally, Chad Gable made his return from injury, debuting a new persona as the “Original El Grande Americano” to feud with the imposter who replaced him.
