WWE SmackDown Viewership Sees Massive Spike After USA Network Return

WWE Friday Night SmackDown bounced back in a major way following its return to its traditional television home. The latest episode broadcast on the USA Network averaged an impressive 1.379 million viewers, representing a massive 23.9% increase from the previous week’s airing, which had been temporarily displaced to the SyFy network.

Strong Performance Against Prime Time Competition

This surge in viewership marks the second highest overall audience the blue brand has achieved since September 5th of last year. The success extended to the crucial 18-49 demographic, where SmackDown averaged a 0.34 rating. This constitutes a 17.2% jump from the prior week and ties the second highest rating the show has secured in that specific category since September 19th.

The numbers are particularly impressive given the stiff competition on Friday night. SmackDown aired head-to-head against a highly viewed NBA game on ESPN that ultimately topped the cable charts. Despite this, the WWE broadcast finished second on the cable charts in the key demographic and an impressive fifth overall on television for the entire evening.

When analyzing year-over-year metrics compared to the exact same week in 2025, the overall viewership was down 20.3%, while the 18-49 rating saw a 36.4% decrease. However, looking at more recent trends, this week’s show was a resounding success; it was up 24.4% in overall viewers and 30.8% in the 18-49 demographic when compared to the rolling 10-week averages.
