The final television tapings before AEW Revolution took place Wednesday night at the San Jose Civic Center, providing a glimpse into the high-octane action scheduled for Saturday’s broadcast. According to Dave Meltzer, who was in attendance, the “go-home” edition of Collision was anchored by an incredible main event and several tense confrontations.
Andrade Secures Hard-Fought Victory Over Dorada
In the evening’s marquee matchup, Andrade El Idolo defeated Mascara Dorada in a contest that lasted nearly 19 minutes. The match was described as a show-stealer, featuring a reverse Spanish Fly and a hammerlock DDT off the middle rope. The conclusion saw Don Callis interfere, attacking Dorada at the announce table. Following the bell, the scene devolved into chaos as Bandido, Rocky Romero, Brody King, and Swerve Strickland all became involved in a massive brawl that left Strickland standing tall over his Revolution opponent.
The women’s world title program also reached a fever pitch. The Triangle of Madness secured a quick victory over local talent, but the post-match celebration was cut short by Kris Statlander. After Statlander leveled Skye Blue and Julia Hart, AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla retaliated by whipping her challenger repeatedly with the title belt. Statlander eventually regained the microphone, warning the champion to “be afraid” of what will be required to keep her down in their upcoming 2/3 Falls match.
Other notable results from the tapings included Mark Davis defeating a returning Komander in a highly athletic bout, and The Demand (Ricochet, Toa Liona, and Bishop Kaun) securing a victory over the Bang Bang Gang. Ricochet utilized his National Championship belt to secure the win, later delivering a promo that drew significant heat from the San Jose crowd. Lena Kross also picked up a win over Mina Shirakawa, solidifying her status as a double-title threat heading into Sunday.
