Cody Rhodes has a strong perspective on Bad Bunny’s place in WWE history — and it’s much more than just being a celebrity. In a conversation with NBC Chicago, the Undisputed WWE Champion argued that the Grammy Award-winning artist has moved beyond the label of a guest appearance.
“I would argue that Bad Bunny is — and I hope I don’t offend anyone — the best celebrity wrestler WWE has ever had,” Rhodes stated. “If you want to experience what a WWE event feels like, look at Puerto Rico, where he faced Damian Priest — it featured one of the greatest entrances in all of sports, and he played a significant role in WWE’s presence there.”
Rhodes also discussed WWE’s international goals, emphasizing Puerto Rico as a key location for the company. “As WWE aims to expand globally, I truly hope Puerto Rico is on our itinerary because of its rich wrestling heritage,” he shared. “I wish he could be involved again because he’s graduated from being a celebrity wrestler to just being an exceptional wrestler.” Bad Bunny triumphed over Damian Priest in a San Juan Street Fight at Backlash 2023, marking one of the most celebrated celebrity bouts in WWE history.
