Mercedes Mone’s championship portfolio has shrunk again. The AEW star lost the WPW Women’s Championship to Jody Threat at Winnipeg Pro Wrestling’s Fight at the Museum event, ending a 164-day reign and leaving her with just two active physical titles — the APAC Women’s Championship in Malaysia and the 2025 Owen Hart Foundation Championship, the latter of which is not regularly defended.
The loss continues what has been a difficult stretch of international results for Mone. At one point she simultaneously held championships in 13 promotions including AEW, ROH, CMLL, RevPro, Discovery Wrestling, EWA in Austria, PTW in Poland, BestYa in Italy, Bodyslam in Denmark, and WPW in Canada. That collection has been dramatically reduced through a series of losses across multiple promotions in recent weeks.
Mercedes Mone Expected to Return to AEW Television Following Her Match With Jody Threat
Mone has been off AEW television since losing the TBS Championship to Willow Nightingale at Dynamite: New Year’s Smash earlier this year. She had previously indicated she would return to AEW programming following her scheduled defense against Threat — meaning her return to television could be imminent now that the Winnipeg match has taken place. The circumstances of that return, including what storyline she steps back into, will be worth watching closely given the significant changes to the AEW women’s division during her extended absence.
